5 Nice and Easy Hairstyles for the Working Woman
Being a modern woman is no joke. We love our careers, our families, and our femininity. As a working mother of two, I know that balancing everything can sometimes feel overwhelming, but it definitely doesn’t have to be. You want to meet all the demands, but it’s so important not to let them take you over. There’s definitely nothing wrong with running out the door with a messy bun and no makeup, but after a while, I start to feel like I’m losing myself in the hustle, and that can feel not-so-great.
This is why it’s so important to make time for yourself, modern woman! But, because we are busy, we still have to be realistic with our time. It’s all about balance. This is why I’ve come up with a list of 5 nice and easy hairstyles that look professional, elegant, and take less than five minutes each (with links to pictures and more tutorials!)
1. Sassy Office Bun
The sassy office bun is the first of the five nice and easy hairstyles that takes only 30 seconds more than a regular bun, but looks infinitely more professional. The only difference is a simple headband and a little extra volume.
Just pull your hair into a high ponytail, and lay a headband about an inch from your hairline. Twist the length of your ponytail into a bun, pinning it down or securing it with an elastic hairband. To give it a little extra volume, use a pencil or a hair pic to lift the section of your hair between the bun and the headband.
2. 5-Minute Curls
This fabulous trick with a hairband cuts 20 minutes off of curling your hair!
First, pull your hair into a high ponytail. (Most tutorials tell you to use or make a “hair bungee,” but I’ve found that’s not really necessary. You can just use a regular ponytail holder and be gentle when you pull it out.) Curl the sections of the ponytail around your curling iron, and then let down the ponytail. And voila! You have gorgeous curls to last the whole day!
3. Double Ponytail
The third of the five nice and easy hairstyles that makes your ponytail look longer and fuller in seconds. Just put half your hair into a ponytail above your ears, and the other half into a ponytail just below the first one. Use a brush to sweep all the hair evenly into each ponytail. Finally, either curl or tease the two ponytails for a full, voluminous ponytail that automatically looks more professional.
4. Braided Low Bun
This is about as easy as it gets, but looks so feminine and chic. Simply pull your hair into a low ponytail, braid it, and then wrap it around a few times like you would a bun. You can secure the braid with a hairband or bobby pins. This looks cute with even the simplest braid, but there are tons of ways to spruce it up with fancier braids if you want to!
5. Hair Headband
This is such a nice and easy yet sophisticated hairstyle for women with longer hair! Separate two face-framing sections of your hair, about 1/2”-1” thick, depending on how thick you want your “headband” to be, and put the rest of your hair into a ponytail. Then pull back those face-framing pieces back and underneath your ponytail, securing it with a smaller elastic hairband. Then let down your ponytail, and you’re all done! And just like with the low bun, there are plenty of ways to get creative and braid your hair headband!
