Zoe Grace Salon & Med Spa's Expert Guide: Preparing for and Caring After Your Neurotoxin Treatments. Botox -  Dysport - Xeomin

Preparing for Your Treatment:

  •    Update us on any new medications or antibiotics since your last visit.
  •    Avoid NSAIDs like Advil, Ibuprofen, and supplements like Vitamin E, Fish Oil, 14 days before treatment to minimize bruising risks. Consult your doctor before stopping any prescribed medication.
  •    Refrain from alcohol 48 hours prior to your appointment to lessen bruising chances.
  •    Consider starting oral Arnica 7 - 10 days before your treatment, following bottle instructions, to further reduce bruising risks.
  •    Deodorant is allowed on the day of treatment if it's for excessive sweating management.
  •    Treatment is not advisable for those pregnant, breastfeeding, or undergoing chemotherapy or radiation (a 6 month remission period is required).
  •    Disclose all medical conditions, medications, skin issues, allergies, and any past severe allergic reactions to your Master Provider.

Post Treatment Care:

  •    You can opt for multiple procedures on the same day. For a combination of Dermal filler, Micro    needling, and Wrinkle Relaxer, undergo them in that specific order.
  •    Avoid strenuous activities for at least 24 hours.
  •    Refrain from massaging the treated areas for 24 hours.
  •    Bruising is common post    treatment, usually resolving within 2 weeks.
  •    Allow up to 10 days for Botox or Dysport to take full effect; some may see results earlier, but maximum effect can take up to 14 days.
  •    Post treatment for excessive sweating, you may resume using deodorant.
  •    The effects of Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin typically last about 3 months, but this varies with each individual.

Before Your Lip Filler Treatment:

  •    Schedule your treatment with downtime in mind, as swelling and bruising might last a few days.

  •    Update us on any new medications, including antibiotics, since your last visit.

  •    Consider Arnica supplements 7-10 days before treatment to lessen bruising (ensure no contraindications with your current medications).

  •    Pregnant or breastfeeding women, and patients undergoing or recently completing chemotherapy or radiation (less than 12 months in remission) are advised against treatment.
  •    Tylenol is recommended over NSAIDs for pain relief before the treatment.

After Your Lip Filler Treatment:

Facial Dermal Fillers

Zoe Grace Salon & Med Spa's Guide to Facial Dermal Fillers: Preparation and Aftercare

Pre Treatment Preparation:

  •    Allocate several days post    treatment for possible swelling, tenderness, and bruising.
  •    Postpone your treatment if you have active cold sores, fever blisters, canker sores, or shingles. Reach out to us a week in advance if you’re prone to these conditions.
  •    Inform us about any new antibiotics or medications started since your initial visit.
  •    To reduce bruising, avoid NSAIDs like Advil, Ibuprofen, and supplements such as Vitamin E and Fish Oil 5 days prior. Consult your doctor before stopping any prescribed drugs.
  •    Share your medical history, current medications, skin conditions, allergies, and other health details with your Master Provider.
  •    Refrain from alcohol 48 hours before your treatment.
  •    Arnica supplements, started 7 -10 days prior, can help minimize bruising (check for medication interactions).
  •    Antihistamines like Claritin, Zyrtec, or Loratadine are recommended 3 days before treatment, especially for tear trough fillers, to reduce swelling.
  •    Treatment is not advised for pregnant or breastfeeding women, and patients in chemotherapy or radiation treatment (unless in remission for 12 months).
  •    Delay treatment if you've used Accutane in the last six months.
  •    Tylenol is safe for pain management before your appointment and doesn’t increase bruising risk.

Post Treatment Care:

  •    Expect redness and swelling, subsiding in several days. Bruising may last up to 14 days.
  •    Use cold compresses/ice immediately after treatment to lessen swelling. Apply briefly, up to 20 minutes per hour, for 3 days.
  •    Some facial areas, like under the eyes, may experience more swelling. Contact us if you notice skin whitening or have concerns.
  •    Avoid manipulating the treated areas for 48 hours.
  •    Refrain from exercise for 24-72 hours to prevent additional swelling.
  •    Your skin might be sensitive post    treatment. Opt for gentle skincare products and delay using strong treatments like retinol or AHA for 3 days. Makeup and gentle cleansers are usually fine a few hours after the procedure.

Suggested Skincare:

  •    Consider SkinCeuticals products, beneficial for skin healing and renewal.
  •    Regular use of sunscreen with at least SPF 30 is crucial for maintaining your skin's health and appearance post treatment.
